So I had a large pomegranate and with the days been still so lovely and warm I decided to get some blitz action going. These are so quick and easy to make I would hardly call it a recipe 🙂 With one large pomegranate I made 500 ml of slush and 500 ml of a thick yoghurt smoothie, and get this for the slush I used just 6 ingredients…oh yes I did 🙂 and only just 3 ingredients for the smoothie, how awesome is that!

Total time needed: 8-10 minutes
Pomegranate Slush
1 – 1½ cups (250 ml – 375 ml) fresh pomegranate seeds
2 cups ice (2 x 250 ml)
¼ – ½ cup (125 ml) simple syrup (adjust according to taste)
1 small lemon
Pinch of salt
This is how:-)
Place all the ingredients in a blender accept the lemon. Use the pulse action and blitz a few times until the ice breaks down. Pour into a serving glass followed by a good squeeze of lemon juice. Stir and enjoy 🙂
To make a simple syrup you will need equal parts of sugar and water and bring to a boil just until the sugar dissolves (do not let it crystallise) let it cool before adding to the slush. There are times when I’m in a hurry and just mix ¼ cup white sugar with ½ cup water and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
And now for my Super Yoghurt Smoothie
You will need
½ cup (125 ml) fresh pomegranate seeds
2 cups (500 ml) double cream yoghurt
2-3 dollops honey (optional)
ice (optional)
This is how: add all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth….that’s all there is to it 🙂
***Now if you like a bit of sweetness you may add the of honey or some sugar. I personally enjoy it as is; no ice and no sugar and let me tell you it’s absolutely narce 😉
