There are many times that we tend to forget the old classics which have served and quenched our thirst for thousands of years. I remember making this in litres during the scorching summer days in Mumbai. The only times I made this in South Africa was during the blistering hot days in January. I am never one to complain about the weather, to me different seasons – inspire different seasonings 😉 during the colder days I would add ginger and use boiling water. But to embrace and keep cool during this heat-wave, this is a very quick, and simple yet refreshing and thirst quenching summer drink.
So When life gives me Lemons…I just add RICE – SPICE or some ICE 🙂
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Makes: 500ml
You will need:
500ml cold water
Squeeze of lemon fresh lemon juice
1-2 tbsp (15-30ml) sugar
½ tsp (2.5ml) salt
Few – fresh mint leaves roughly torn into pieces
Slices of lemon for serving
Ice for serving.
Here’s how 🙂
Combine all the above ingredients in a jug; accept the slices of lemon and ice. Stir well.
Serve with lemon slices topped with ice.
